For this reason, the amount of information, published data, and studies regarding New Zealand Blue Mussels is relatively small compared to Greenshell Mussels. New Zealand Blue mussels are known to be good source of protein, glycosaminoglycans, vitamins and minerals including vitamin C, vitamin B12, thiamine, riboflavin, folate, phosphorus and zinc, iron, magnesium, manganese and selenium. New Zealand Blue mussels contain similar major long chain omega-3 PUFAs (EA, EPA and DHA) to Greenshell mussels, however, in lower yields.
